EASTER IN GRANADA
FROM APRIL 2 TO APRIL 9, 2023
Between palms and olive trees, and with drum rolls as protagonists, this is how the city of Granada shows itself during the eight days of its Holy Week.
Nothing to do with a visit at any other time of the year.
During these special days, the most emblematic places of Granada take on a unique atmosphere.
One of the outstanding images of Granada’s Holy Week is the bonfires lit in the Sacromonte caves, where the “Procession of the Christ of the Gypsies” takes place on Holy Wednesday.
On the night of Holy Thursday, the Albaicín is filled with charm with the procession of the Cristo del Silencio, accompanied by the three Virgins of the neighborhood: the Virgen de la Concha, the Estrella and the Aurora.
