DISTRICT OF THE ALBAICÍN

It is not surprising that UNESCO declared Albaicin a World Heritage Site in 1994, as its narrow streets and typical houses have an unparalleled beauty and charm and have retained their popular, intimate and welcoming character for more than a thousand years.

The best way to get to know him is to start the visit at the Interpretation Center of the Casa de Zafra and then walk around and get lost in its corners. In Albaicín (also written Albayzin or Albaycín) you will breathe the essence of a neighborhood that evokes both Arab architecture and that of other ancient Mediterranean cities. Much of its charm lies in the many cármenes that populate the neighborhood (typical houses with orchard and garden), as well as on the slopes that lead to its impressive viewpoints, among which stands out the viewpoint of San Nicolás.
